How to replace hybrid dust-free swabs? Alternative
Can anything replace dust-free swabs when making hybrid nails? What can you use instead of dust-free swabs? Is there an alternative for dust-free swabs?

If you don't have dust-free swabs, you can use a cotton pad and aluminum foil. Dampen the petal with acetone and wrap it around the nail. Aluminum foil should be put on top of it, as tightly as possible. Acetone cannot evaporate. However, nothing is as good as a lint-free cotton ball. Better to have a good stock of them.
You can try gauze, the gauze will not leave any fibers. You can buy one at a pharmacy, ask a pharmacist and she will advise you.
It's hard to find anything that good. But dust-free sticks and dust-free swabs are very easy to buy and quickly, for example on the Allegro. And when you run a beauty salon, you need to have a supply of it, you cannot wait for the last moment for something to end 🙂 These gauze replacements may be good, but they are not the same.
I think that you can safely use cosmetic pads at home. However, they can leave fibers behind. Therefore, gauze bought at a pharmacy will be better.
Dust-free cotton pads are commonly used in hybrid manicure because they do not leave fibers that could contaminate the nails before applying the hybrid varnish or gel. If you don't have access to dust-free cotton pads, you can replace them with several alternatives:
- Non-woven fabric rolls – they are similar to dust-free cotton pads and also do not leave fibers on the nails.
- Makeup sponges – some makeup sponges, especially those intended for applying powder, are made of a material that does not leave fibers. You can cut them into smaller pieces and use them for cleaning nails.
- Old stockings – clean, thin nylon stockings may be a suitable substitute because they are delicate and lint-free.
- Nail cleaning brushes – use a brush with soft bristles to clean the nails from dust after filing. Then use pure alcohol or another nail disinfectant.
- Paper towels cut into pieces – choose higher quality ones that are less prone to leaving fibers.
- Microfiber – if you have a clean microfiber cloth, you can try using it to clean your nails. Microfiber is delicate and usually does not leave any lint.
When choosing a replacement, always make sure that it is clean and does not leave any contamination that could affect the adhesion of the hybrid varnish or gel.
