The most important features of a laptop can vary depending on the user's needs, but there are a few key aspects that are generally considered important for most users. Here they are:
1. Portability
- Weight and size: for people who often travel with a laptop, a light and thin model will be the most comfortable.
2. Efficiencyć
- Processor (CPU): the heart of the computer, determines the speed of application and system operation.
- Operating memory (RAM): affects the smooth operation of many applications at the same time.
- Graphics card (GPU): important for gaming, video editing and other graphics-intensive tasks.
- Hard disk (HDD/SSD): SSD offers faster data access and overall system responsiveness than traditional HDD.
3. Battery life
- For mobile users, long battery life is crucial to being able to use a laptop all day without the need for charging.
4. Screen quality
- Resolution: Higher resolution offers better image quality.
- Panel type: For example, IPS provides better viewing angles and color reproduction than traditional TN panels.
- Screen size: the choice depends on the needs of use; a larger screen is better for gaming and work, but a smaller one is more portable.
5. Connectivity
- USB ports: number and type (e.g. USB 3.0, USB-C) of available ports.
- Wi-Fi: Support for the latest Wi-Fi standards ensures a faster and more stable internet connection.
- Bluetooth: for connecting to wireless peripherals.
6. Operating System (OS)
- The choice between Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and Linux depends on your preferences and the type of tasks you perform.
7. Keyboard and touchpad
- Comfort and ergonomics of use, especially for people who spend a lot of time writing.
8. Speakers and sound quality
- Important for people watching movies, playing games or listening to music without external speakers or headphones.
9. Durability and quality of construction
- Resistance to everyday use, including transport and possible falls.
10. Price
- The final choice often depends on the user's budget and which of the above features are most important to him.
To sum up, it is important to precisely define your needs and priorities before purchasing a laptop, which will allow you to choose the model that best suits your individual requirements.
For me, it is also important that the screen is large (17.3 inches) and that it is matte, not shiny - much healthier for the eyes while working.
Some keyboards also have worse keyboards, others better. Especially if you type without looking at the keyboard.
For example, Lenovo has much better keyboards than MSI.
In MSI, instead of putting the right alt next to the spacebar, they made some useless key, and the alt is further away and I often press the wrong button.
